For those of you who’ve never heard of ROW 80, a Round of Word in 80 days, it’s basically a forum for writers who need an extra push to get their WIP done. That’s me! If you’d like to join, it’s pretty simple. You make a post showing what writing goals you’d like to accomplish in the next 80 days. Twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, you make a post showing where you are on said goals, and use their “linky tool” so you can find others doing ROW80 and support each other. Round 1 lasts from January 2, 2012 to March 22, 2012 and there are four rounds a year. If your late joining, that’s OK too. See? Simple!
I’m using Row 80 to help me to FINALLY nail down the big hole that’s currently at the end of my WIP. I’ve got 24 Chapters that are pretty much set. I’ve got an ending. I’m missing some chapters before the ending. I should be able to finish them, if it just sit down and stay focused, but it sort of like dieting. Those last 5 to 10 lbs are the toughest lbs to get rid of!
So…for the next 80 days, here’s what I’d like to accomplish:
- Write 5,000 words for my WIP each week until Book 1 is finished.
- Continue to write Blogophilia posts once a week and repost my stories on my Wattpad account.
- Continue to participate in 6 Sentence Sundays.
- Once the last chapters of my WIP are written, I’ll have to work on editing and formatting, but I’ll set up those goals once ALL the chapters are set and written.
That’s about as much as I think I can handle at this time, but I think they’re attainable goals. That’s important to me.
Good Luck to everyone and may 2012 be a great year!
Juli

I think I can do it. If it’s too much, I’ll adjust it accordingly. I need to push myself a little, or it won’t EVER get finished! LOL Thank you for the well wishes, Jenny. 🙂

Hooray for finishing WIPs! That is my big focus for 2012, since I have too many projects in some sort of semi-finished state. Best of luck to you Juli!

I think I can do these, but week 1 was a tricky one. I was covering a vacation at work. There were call offs that I covered as well. The kiddo had a birthday, so we had a party for him. I just wrote what I could when I could. The next week will go much better because I will have less obligations to tend with.
