Post-Holiday Pasta With Jam Sauce?

I woke up this morning thinking, I don’t want to get out of bed.  I don’t want to get dressed.  I don’t want to leave my house.  I don’t want to go to work.  Deep down I figured it was some sort of post-holiday depression thing going on, but even with that knowledge, I had a heck of a time getting past it and moving on with my day. But once I got to work, I realized it wasn’t JUST me.  In fact, ALL my co-workers seemed to be suffering from the same post-holiday funk.  And when everyone is depressed for no reason, it almost cancels out the depression, sort of like 2 “nopes” make a “yup” on the Exploding Kittens game.

Also, I learned that when I’m at work and I’m in a weird post-holiday funk, I get especially judgemental with the new items I’m pricing/tagging.  Like this gem, taken with my craptastic camera-phone:

This was on the label of one of those  plastic to-go salad bowl containers, the kind you buy in January because you SWEAR you’re going to get in better shape and eat salad for lunch instead of cheeseburgers and fries. You make one salad, forget to rinse out the container, and find a science experiment growing inside it once you find the container under the passenger seat of your car, six months later.  Yeah…that plastic container.  Anyway, it comes with a smaller container, built in the lid, for your salad dressing.  Except, in this case…it’s NOT necessarily for your salad dressing?  It’s for jam…or possibly “jam salad dressing” if you don’t notice the comma right away.  (Which I didn’t, because I was in a post-holiday bad mood.)  Why does “jam” get top billing on a bowl designed for salads? Who made that decision???  Why did it CLEARLY show salad it the bowl on the front of the box (not pictured here) and yet they list “jam” as the top condiment?

I was completely mystified…until I remembered this video:

This container is NOT meant to hold salad, despite what the picture showed.  (Which you can’t see, because my camera-phone was having temper-tantrum.)  “It’s for Pasta With Jam Sauce!”

Thank you Misha and West Collins for clearing that up!!  And keep me away from any and all power tools until the crabby feelings subside.  😉
