The Williamson’s Farmhouse
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
We are moving the last of the furniture out of the house that I grew up in, the house that inspired Bobbi Williamson’s beloved farmhouse. I made sure I took parting photos of this strange old girl, as surely they don’t make many like this anymore. Enjoy! JH
Living room as seem from dining area. Master bedroom is on the right.
Living room as seen from inside dining area. Front door is to the left.
View of the basement stairs. This is NOT a trick of the camera. The stairs are worse in person.
View from the living room. Starting with the right: office, staircase, studio, bathroom.
View of the upstairs hallway. “Chloe’s room” is the first door on the right. Note the angled ceiling.
As seen from the living room/front door. To the right is the bathroom. To the left is a view of the dining area, the hub of the house. Behind the dining room is the TV room. The kitchen sits to the left of the dining room.
But not the basement…design a house with a “real” basement. 🙂 The basement steps in this house were so wonky, most of the time, the electric and water companies refused to read our meter. I remember when I was little, running down those stairs to call out the numbers to the meter guys. LOL Good times! 🙂
Love the angled ceiling in the upstairs hallway! And the rounded doorway in another photo!

That don’t make houses like this one anymore. 🙂

Not usually! But if I were to design my own, which I’d like to one day, it’d be JUST like that.

Aren’t the arches fantastic? The only redeemable part of my apartment is an old-style arch. And there are several arches here!
