Random Ramblings

Two Seconds of Fame, Life at The Hoffman Haus

I had my two seconds of fame this week.  Normally I keep a quiet little blog.  I have maybe three followers, and I’m OK with that.  After all, most people try in vain to tune out my rambles because they know what a talker I can be!

This week, one of my posts didn’t exactly go viral, but I think it might have had a little allergy.  I posted a few of my pictures up on Tuesday.  On Wednesday, I had 262 hits.  Now I don’t know how all of this works exactly, but I thought that was pretty cool.  I’m terrible about committing to posting more often than once or twice a week, if that.  Most days I only get a couple of hits, and I’m sure I don’t even deserve those.  Normally aren’t any new posts to read!  There are many days when I’d rather spend the time I could be using for writing, reading other people’s stuff.  🙂

So thank you all for those two seconds of fame!  It was fun while it lasted.

  1. Julie, how do you even know how many followers you have? I’ve followed you with my email, but do you have a way to see that? My recommendation to you, is to put a link here on your blog (if wordpress will even let you) to Google friend connection, and/or Networked blogs! Then you will SEE all of your followers! Also, Networked blogs automatically posts any new blogs you do directly to FaceBook…(all of your friends will see it) and Google has many gadgets that you can add so others can follow you with their “Reader”.
Just a suggestion…I think you’d see more followers that way though.
Good luck! (I always enjoy your posts.)

ps. I only do my blog about once a week (although I do have two blogs keeping me busy) Check out my blog(s) and see what I mean about the ease of following.

    1. That’s a great tip Sharon! I just started “playing” with google, but like all new friendships, it takes a while to get to know each other. LOL I’ll have to look into their gadgets. I just got my FIRST google email last month when I joined google+. As with most new technology, it’s not easy for me to use, but I’m learning.

You can learn a lot about who’s checking out your wordpress site on your dashboard. It shows you who’s been refering you, and you can click onto some of these to back track where your links were shared at. It’s kind of fun.
