Book Review: Lady Kopp Makes Trouble by Amy Stewart

Lady Cop Makes Trouble is the second book in the Kopp Sisters series written by Amy Stewart, published on September 6th, 2016. (This is the SECOND time I’ve read this book.)

It is the summer of 1915 and Constance Kopp has a new job as New Jersey’s first lady deputy sheriff. Women still haven’t gained the right to vote and not everyone is pleased to see a woman chasing down criminals. Constance may have a gun and handcuffs, but she doesn’t have her badge yet.

Doctor Reverend Baron Herman Albert von Matthesius

Doctor Reverend Baron Herman Albert von Matthesius (yes, he really went by all those names!) has escaped. Constance Kopp is determined to find Matthesius and return him back to jail.

As in the previous book, Girl Waits With Gun, this book is loosely based on actual people. Constance Kopp was a real person, as was Matthesius. He really did escape and Constance did the detective work to find him and bring him back to justice.

Norma and Fleurette Kopp are back in this novel. I love the relationship these women have with one another. Norma is such a supportive sister in this particular installment in the series.

This book could be read as a stand-alone novel, but I think it’s better to read this book as part of the series.

I really enjoyed this novel! This book is suitable for anyone, from middle-schoolers to adults.
