Happy Birthday to my Favorite Eviction.

Nine years ago today, I became a mom.  Except it didn’t happen on a Saturday.  It happened on a Monday.  A Monday!  Which seems sort of wrong, on multiple levels, but I suppose somebody HAS to be born on a Monday, so there you go.  Plus, I had a REALLY rough pregnancy, so it was a lot more like an eviction than a birth.  Heartwarming, right?

I remember it like it was yesterday.  My contractions started on Sunday, while I was at work.  But, Hubby and I never got around to taking those pesky birthing classes my doctor recommended; so all my birthing advice came from other moms.  Thanks to ignorance, I wasn’t afraid of the actual, giving birth part.  I’d witnessed a horse give birth and a cat give birth.  How much different could it be?  Woman have been giving birth for as long as there have been people.  Yeah…

In retrospect, I probably should have gotten a bit more information BEFORE the big day.  For example, I wasn’t informed until AFTER I gave birth, that my great-grandmother almost died in childbirth!  That’s why grandpa was an only child.  Go figure.  This is the kind of stuff your doctors might find helpful and useful, since it took TWO of them to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.  Oh, and they seemed mighty nervous the entire time.  I’m sure they will agree; it’s not good to make the nice doctors nervous!  They don’t like it.  Happily, everything turned out OK.  The doctors were able to put everything back where they found it.  Kiddo’s healthy.  All is well.  Let’s go have some cake!

Happy Birthday Kiddo!  Hubby and I both agree; parenting you has been an amazing adventure!  We love you!  😉

Have a great day!

    1. The evicting part wasn’t as bad as 9 months of forced bulimia. I couldn’t keep anything down! Ridiculous!!! I never knew anyone could survive on so little. I LOVE to eat, so that part was horrible!!!! Needless to say, my pregnancy wasn’t exactly “normal.” 😉
