Yes, it’s named after the food supplement in the 1966 science-fiction novel Make Room! Make Room!

Yes, the 1973 movie, Soylent Green, was based on this book.

I have no idea what Soylent is made of in 2018, but in the movie, in fictitious 2022 it’s made from…
