I worked in my friend’s garden this morning. (She’s a few decades older than me.) The weather was hot and sticky (86ºF) but the conversation was AMAZING!
Here are a couple of pics of her front yard:
I love talking with friends who are older—or younger—than myself. I think it adds some MUCH needed perspective. It reminds me of this quote by Neil Gaiman:
“Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.”
It’s the same when you talk with someone with a little more perspective, a different background, and perhaps a few more years of experience. My mind is in a different place than it was when I woke up this morning. Today was a blessing—or as my friend exclaimed, “a mitzvah!”

Beautiful! Someday I’d like mien to be as full as that, but one step at a time. At least we’ve gotten rid of the weeds for now (until the plastic needs replace. Oi!)

I’ve been helping this friend for several years, now. This is the prettiest her garden has been. It’s so shady and peaceful. 🙂
