Gardening, Random Ramblings

Morning “Mitzvah”

I worked in my friend’s garden this morning. (She’s a few decades older than me.) The weather was hot and sticky (86ºF) but the conversation was AMAZING!

Here are a couple of pics of her front yard:

I love talking with friends who are older—or younger—than myself. I think it adds some MUCH needed perspective. It reminds me of this quote by Neil Gaiman:

“Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.”

― Neil Gaiman

It’s the same when you talk with someone with a little more perspective, a different background, and perhaps a few more years of experience. My mind is in a different place than it was when I woke up this morning. Today was a blessing—or as my friend exclaimed, “mitzvah!”
