It’s my blog’s five year anniversary and I didn’t bake it a cake! No donuts. No chicken and waffles. NOTHING! In fact, if it hadn’t been for the WordPress notification, I wouldn’t have even known it was here. It just sneaked up on me like Red 40 in a can of biscuits. You don’t even know it’s there until you’re breaking out in hives.
So…here it is. Five years on WordPress. I feel like I should be sharing something profound…but I’ve got nothing. I’m in a book club—just went to my second meeting. Does that count as news? Probably not. I just finished reading Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. It was nominated for the 2015-16 Great Michigan Read. (My book club is also reading this novel.) Great book, especially if you live near the Great Lakes area. But, this does not seem like “news.”
What else? I’m on Goodreads. Actively. It seems like a no-brainer. That’s where the readers go, right? I read books like mind-candy. But, I’ve been dragging my heels for awhile on this one. Who knows why! One more social media site…
Oh! And I joined NetGalley…so I’m only a slippery slope away from drinking the Kool-Aid—which probably has Red 40 in it. I’ve got more books on my reading pile than there is hours in the day. What’s a few dozen more? Don’t answer that! It’s a sickness.
Take care! xo Juli
Congratulations on your 5th Anniversary. 💐

The good thing about a slippery slope is that usually there isn’t one. So you’ll gradually slip into Red-40, reading comatoseness.
Happy Anniversary on five years with your blog!

Congrats! I avoid Goodreads because there’s too much nastiness if you;re an author, like you;re not allowed to also be a reader…

I can see that… My latest Kindle practically bullies readers into being on Goodreads. (That’s what I get for NOT spending the extra $10 to get the Kindle without advertisements. LOL)
