I was looking through my emails, my WordPress feed, blah, blah, blah this morning and I see this feature about using Google maps in a post. I think to myself, “Self, I NEED an excuse to use this!” Why? Oh…who knows, but isn’t it cool? It’s a map! A MAP! OK, this might be the chicken and waffles I had for breakfast talking. Also, tend to get lost easily, so maps are my friends! It’s the “Witch-in-the-box” I’m not so sure about. You can’t always trust her! “Turn left in 3 meters.” I don’t think so. There’s no road! That’s a cow path!!!
Anyways, when you combine my love for obscure, small town events, with my love of maps, you get this:
See! This is where The Salem Historical Society will be showing “Michigan at War” and “Stranded at the Corner,” on January 23, 2013, at 7:30, AFTER their town hall meeting. I’m not a member of the historical society, nor do I live in Salem, Michigan, so it’s going to cost me $2 for admission. Totally worth it! 🙂 Yes, I scour my junk mail (or just glance at it before I give it a good pitch) because I believe in the importance of supporting local communities and their small town events. Plus they’re fun! Plus, when I go to these kind of events, it makes my co-workers scratch their heads and wonder/worry about me. A huge bonus!
Have a great day!
